Watersports in Singapore
Not surprisingly for a county located on a small island, there is a multitude of watersports on offer in Singapore. Without a doubt the most popular of all watersports is the worldwide phenomenon known as wakeboarding. Wakeboarding has become the fastest growing watersport in Singapore, increasing over 100 percent in participation, over the past three years. The Singapore Water-ski Wakeboard Federation (SWWF) organised the first wakeboarding competition in 1994 at Riverside. Eight riders competed in that event, and today an average of 80 competitors compete in these competitive wakeboarding events at Kallang. The SWWF has continued to promote wakeboarding by personally inviting other professional wakeboarders from the U.S.A to perform demonstrations in Singapore.
Without a doubt the most popular location for people to learn and hone their wakeboarding skills is the cableski park Ski360degree located at one of Singapore’s most happening places, East Coast Park.
